Customs Clearance

Practical guidance to help you choose and prepare the right shipment.

Mailing envelopes on a desk
Customs paperwork

Clear, consistent item information helps prevent avoidable customs questions. Prepare the shipment data before a package is handed to a carrier.

Information to check

  • Use a specific description for every item, not a broad label such as “goods” or “gift”.
  • Record quantity, unit value, currency, country of origin, and HS code when applicable.
  • Check that package contents agree with the packing list and commercial invoice.
  • Confirm whether the destination requires permits, certificates, or other declarations.

How the system helps

Item-to-package allocations keep quantities connected to the correct handling unit. Booking documents are generated from the shipment record so addresses, values, and weights can be reviewed together.

This page is general preparation guidance, not a customs ruling. The importer, exporter, and carrier remain responsible for confirming current destination requirements, duties, and restrictions.
